David Chorneyko David, the eldest son of Dan and Millie (Berezowski) Chorneyko, was born on October 16, 1946. He grew up, with a half-brother Clifford and a younger brother Ernie, on a
farm in the Beaver Plains district near Arran. David completed his grade 8 education at Beaver Plains School. He farmed the family farm with Ernie for many years of his adult life. When the farm was sold, he and Ernie moved to Arran. David, “Davey” as he was affectionately called by his father, was a bright mischivious child. The death of his beloved father when he was only 13 years of age had a profound effect on David and was the first of many losses. He was predeceased by his mother in 1984 and his brother Ernie in 1994. Ernie’s death was an overwhelming loss and shortly thereafter David moved to a low rental in Pelly. He would sometimes bike to Arran on a warm day and drop in unexpectedly on relatives. David received care and companionship from homecare workers in Pelly the last decades of his life. David’s ashes were buried in Beaver Plains Cemetery (previously known as St. John’s Cemetery), near to the farm he grew up on, next to his brother Ernie and his father Dan.
A burial ceremony was held in St. John Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
