Donald James Aronetz passed away on Sunday, September 9. He was seventy-four years of age.
Donald was born on June 18, 1944 to parents Metro and Mary (nee Osatuik) Aronetz on the farm where they resided.
Don attended Preeceville School where he graduated, and after school was finished he went to Hudson Bay and worked in the bush for his brother-in-law Wilfred Leason. He stayed there for about a year and came back to join the Department of Highways. He worked for Highways for twenty-five years and took retirement.
During his spare time Don enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting and his early years.
Don always enjoyed his buddies coming over to his place for some mean Bar-B-Que meals. Later in his life he would get together with Norm, Paul and Dennis at Mid-Town for coffee on a daily basis. He would always tell his sister about the chit chats they had. Don was quite a joker, and when he was with his friends he always had everyone laughing.
Don was predeceased by his dad, Metro; mom, Mary; sisters Sadie, Emily, Nettie, Lillian (Carl) of Kelowna; brothers George, Bill, John and Edward (in infancy). He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Jennie Leason and Anne Malcolm of Hudson Bay; brothers Mike (Carol) and Nick (Lynn) from Vancouver as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
