DALTON – Gladys Dalton, of Preeceville, wife of the Late John (Jack) Dalton passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in the Preeceville Long Term Care Centre. She was one-hundred and four years of age.
Gladys was the second oldest daughter of Henry and Clara Olsen. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Lutheran Church. She regularly attended Sunday School and Bible Study. Gladys was very involved in the church. She was Sunday School Superintendent, taught Sunday School, was President of the E.L.W. and sang in the choir. Gladys was quite the Biblical Scholar and besides leading many Bible Studies, she led many sessions of the Bethel Series.
Gladys married John (Jack) Dalton on December 6, 1940.
She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Clara, her husband John (Jack), her infant son Mark Bryan, her four brothers, Waldo (Bud), Clayton, Murray, and Lowell, and three sisters, Lois (in infancy), Adella, and Muriel.
Left to cherish the memory of Gladys are her daughter Heather (Lyle), grandsons, Jonathan (Stacey), Berkley (Sabrina), great grandchildren Emerson, Jackson, Jace, and Kayden, and her sister Lorna Homstol, as well as many nieces, nephews, and, other relatives.
Gladys is loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 21, 2019 from St. John Lutheran Church in Preeceville with Pastor Hein Bertram officiating. The organist Barb Melsness led the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘I Know That My Redeemer Lives’, ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘He Leadeth Me’. Interment followed in the Preeceville Lutheran Cemetery with Jonathan Strykowski, Berkley Strykowski, Greg Homstol, Reid Homstol, Lance Homstol and Craig Maksymic serving as the casketbearers. Memorial Donations in memory of Gladys may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to the Preeceville Long Term Care Auxillary as gifts of remembrance.
