Gladys Robinson of Preeceville passed away on January 29, 2018 at the Preeceville and District Long Term Care Centre.
Gladys Adella Robinson (nee Anderson) was born on August 29, 1926 to Ole and Johanna (nee Saugmeyher) Anderson. She attended Beaver Bluff School and High School in Preeceville. Gladys lived in B.C. with her sister Myrtle where she took a hair dressing course.
When Gladys returned to Preeceville, she married Edward Robinson and they had one son, Mark. She and Mark lived in Preeceville, but Gladys spent many days helping on the family farm. She also took a job as a Home Care Worker.
Gladys took great pride in working in her yard, tending to her vegetable garden, flowers and fruit trees. You couldn’t find a weed anywhere. In the evenings, she would relax and watch the Blue Jays, very seldom missing a game. Gladys also enjoyed playing cards with her family and would whip the pants off anyone who would play Carom with her.
Gladys lived in her own home with the help of Home Care. Due to failing health, she was moved to the Long Term Care Unit in Preeceville. Gladys passed away on January 29, 2018.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband, her parents, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son Mark (Aldine), grandson Justin (Kyla), great granddaughter Brinley, a niece Lila and a nephew Leslie.
