John Cull Obituary

CULL – John Cull beloved husband of Brittany Cull of Preeceville passed away on September 22, 2019 at the Canora Hospital. He was thirty four years of age.

John Edward Cull was born on December 12, 1984 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland to Frances & Wade Cull. He was the older brother of Christopher and Michael. He grew up in Marystown Newfoundland, the place he called home. He went to Marystown High school where he graduated in 2002.

At the age of 22, while in remission from his first battle with skin cancer, he was introduced to a girl who would later become his future wife. He followed Brittany to Preeceville, Saskatchewan where they started a family after five years of being together. He became a first time father to a baby boy Jagger John Raymond in 2012. John and Brittany got married on August 6, 2016. They were together for over twelve years.

During his first years in Preeceville, he worked at the local grocery store. In 2009 his best friend got him a job working as a carpenter. He transitioned to his new job fairly quickly, building things and learning new things of the trade. He went on doing construction for over nine years, working alongside friends and his brother in law. His favorite thing to be doing at work was roofing. He also made some lifelong friends and met good people in his line of work.

John also had hobbies, which included golfing, fishing, sledding, watching hockey with the family and hanging out in the man cave with his friends. He was a big fan of playing video games, one of which he spent a lot of time playing together with his son. He worked hard to get his first brand new truck, which he took a lot of pride in. The one thing he always dreamed of having.

John leaves behind his loving wife Brittany, son Jagger, grandparents Jack and Amelia, parents Frances and Wade, brothers Christopher and Michael (Pam), In-laws Harold and Mary, brother-in-law’s Cory (Celine) and Cody (Paige), sister-in-law Felicia (Derek), nephews Parker, Nate and Aiden, nieces Winter, Dilana and Baby B (who he didn’t get a chance to meet). He also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

John is predeceased by his grandparents Edward and Emily Skinner.

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from the Preeceville Legion Hall with Pastor Hein Bertram of St. John Lutheran Church officiating.  Pianist, Barb Melseness led the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘What A Friend We Have in Jesus’.
