MITCHELL – Laura Mitchell widow of the Late Berton Mitchell formerly of Sturgis passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Kamsack and District Nursing Home. She was ninety-nine years of age.

Laura Elanora Myhron Mitchell was born on August 20, 1918 to Tulif and Alma (nee Johnson) Myhron.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon Prekaski (David); granddaughter Ronnie Prekaski (partner Ryan Nordmarken); great-granddaughters Shyann Lindholm, Mercade Lindholm and Savannah Nordmarken; son Herbert Mitchell (Jean); grandson Jeff (Wendi); great-grandsons Nathan and Zachary; granddaughter Alienia (Loewin) Woroschuk; great granddaughter Kelly Mitchell and great grandson Kyle Mitchell; sister in law Elsie Myhran.

Laura was predeceased by all of her siblings Lawrence, Chester, Norman and sister Thelma; her infant daughter; husband, Bert in November 1993; son Ronald in January 1984 and son-in-law David in 1991.

Laura loved her family and lived to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed baking cookies for them, especially Valentine cookies that the great grandchildren could take to school. Laura especially enjoyed curling, bowling, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.

A Memorial Service with interment in the Preeceville Community Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of Laura may be made to Grace United Church or to the Kamsack and District Nursing Home Auxillary.
