MASTRACHUK – Michael Mastrachuk of Fort MacMurray passed away on November 30, 2017. He was 42 years of age.

Michael was born on April 25th 1975 in Richmond, BC to proud parents Merle Mastrachuk and Dona Mawhinney, and grandparents Willie & Mary Mastrachuk and Thomas and Joyce Mawhinney.

Michael attended various elementary schools throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. He enjoyed playing many sports including hockey, lacrosse and baseball. Michael finished the rest of his education at Father Mecredi High School. He then worked at various jobs and had many different interests in life.  From a small child Mike also enjoyed playing with his Lego’s, rubber wrestlers, and hockey cards which led into a great interest in following sports as a spectator.

Michael became a father in September of 2000 to Lisa, then again to Eden & Keesa. Michael was married to Shannon Henderson in September of 2009.

Michael had a strong zest for life, this led to interest in politics, sports, financial investments, and family, which kept him busy till the end.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 11, 2017 from Grace United Church in Sturgis, Saskatchewan with Rev. Miles Russell officiating. A tribute and words of remembrance were given by Ceanna Woods. Urnbearers were Shannon Henderson, Lisa Desjarlais and Tammy Mastrachuk. Honourary Bearers were Rob Flett, Dan Scaber, Chris Lachance and Andrew Campbell.

Interment followed in the family plot in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens.  

Memorials in memory of Michael may be made towards a trust fund for his children as gifts of remembrance.
