Stella Krochak Obituary

KROCHAK - Stella Krochak wife of the Late William Krochak of Preeceville Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2018, at the age of 90 years.

Stella was born on June 27th, 1928, to Carl and Dora (Shuya) Prystay of the Hyas District. A few years later the family moved to the Olesha District. In 1943, Stella’s family moved to Ontario, where Stella worked in a factory that manufactured finishing rivets for airplanes, a glass factory and a third factory where shells were made for bombs during the war. In 1945, when the war ended they moved back to Saskatchewan and settled back in the Olesha District to work on the family farm. Stella then married Bill Krochak, on November 15, 1945. They settled in Arran, Saskatchewan where Stella took up hair dressing and also helped her husband in his business ventures. They then moved to Stenen, Saskatchewan where Stella opened a hamburger stand and to the best of our recollection it was called The Dew Drop Inn.  Her hamburgers were the best loved by everyone. She also helped her husband Bill with the operation of their Royalite gasoline service station. Both Mom and Dad also travelled to Ontario and worked on the tobacco farms during the summer.  Stella also spent a few years working at the Army and Navy Vets kitchen in Regina catering for the members.  Stella will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Stella was predeceased by her parents Carl and Dora; her husband Bill; her son Barry; her brother Bill and a brother Michael in infancy; her twin sister Helen.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Donnie (Mary-Anne) of Hamilton, ON; her son Ronnie (Sandra) of Benito, MB; her son Jimmy (Julie) of Assiniboia, SK; her son Gary (Bev) of Clive, AB; her son Michael of Preeceville, SK; her son Terry (Sherrie) of Good Spirit Lake, SK; her grandchildren Tanya (Brian); Paula (Michael); Denoda (Matt); Kaylee (Steven); Karlee; Mandy (Matt); Jeremy (Angie); Tamara (Darryl); Shelby (Diane); Josh; Joey (Rose); Jay (Marlene); Jamie (Ashley); Dustin; and Ryan; her great-grandchildren Oliver; Evelyn; Nora; Laine; Austin; Chance; James; Logan; Liam; Atticus; Stella; Carter; Jayda and Meah; her sisters:  Ann (Jim) Kinaschuk of Benito, MB and Polly (John) Dykun of Kamsack, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
