BOWEY-   William “Sam”  Bowey , beloved husband of Margaret (nee Regner) Bowey, passed away at the General Hospital in Regina on September 12, 2017 with his family by his side. Sam was eighty-two years of age.

Sam was born on July 28, 1935 at the family farm in Archie Municipality near Welwyn, Saskatchewan. He was the fourth youngest son of Ernest and Catherine (nee McDonald) Bowey.

Sam attended school in Welwyn. He left home at age seventeen to work with the Department of Agriculture at Melita and Brandon, Manitoba. Sam started working for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in 1956 as an agent. Over the years, he worked at Welwyn, Rocanville, Eatonia, Grassdale, MacNutt, and Preeceville. Sam became an Area Superintendent in 1976 and lived in Humboldt, Tisdale and Preeceville. He also worked for one year as a Farm Supply Manager in Humboldt. Sam retired after working for thirty- eight years with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

 Sam met Margaret Regner, the love of his life while working in Eatonia. Sam and Margaret were married on August 1, 1957. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They have a son Carl and a daughter Shelley.

 Sam loved the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved spending time at the cabin at Nelson Lake with family and friends. Sam was involved in many activities in the community of Preeceville such as the Preeceville Wildlife Federation, Lions Club, and Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed curling, snowmobiling, playing cards and many carpentry projects.

Sam was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Catherine, his brothers Jim and George and sisters in law Jean and Islay.

 Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Margaret, their children Carl (Florence), Shelley (Darren), grandchildren Allan, Derek (Kristea), Dustin (Sarah), and Kristina; great grandchildren Eli, Ender and Emma, and his brother Hugh. Sam will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Funeral Service for Sam took place on Monday, September 19 from Trinity United Church in Preeceville with Reverend Miles Russell officiating.
