Ann Perpelitz Obituary

Mrs. Ann Perpelitz (nee Ratushniak), beloved wife of the late Nick Perpelitz, of Sturgis, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 25th, 2023, at the age of 96 at Preeceville and District Health Centre. Our dear mother has joined the Lord.

Ann was born on October 8th, 1928, in the Canora area to Theodore and Kathryn Ratushniak. She was one of six siblings: Mary, Teena, Tekla, Mike, and Gladys. Ann married Nick Perpelitz in 1948, and they shared a life together until his passing in 1999.

Ann and Nick resided and farmed in the Sturgis area, actively participating in their community. Ann had a passion for gardening and found joy in tending to her yard. Evenings were dedicated to knitting, crocheting, and quilting for her family. She had a love for curling and enjoyed both participating in and watching the sport. A skilled cook and baker, Ann's catering talents extended to places like Grace United Church, where her perogies became legendary. Her home was always open to friends, who were welcomed for coffee and goodies. Over the years, Ann worked various jobs, including as a custodian for the town office, library, and post office. Her love for animals was evident, and her home was a haven for pets. Ann's kindness and generous heart knew no bounds.

Ann and Nick were blessed with five children: Garry, Phyllis (Albert), Herbert (Caron), Wendy, and Derren (Karen). Their family expanded to include seven grandchildren and their families; Kerry (Patricia) Babcock and their son Aaron, Ryan (Jennifer) Babcock and their children Rylan, Megan Windjack, Amber (Jordan) Tian; and their children, Briella and Jasper, Jodi (Kara) Perpelitz and their children, Deklan, Alexander, and Josephine, Chad (Melody) Perpelitz and their children, Molly and Abby, Bryce (Hunter) Perpelitz and their son, Erik, Holden (Valentina) Perpelitz and Jayden Perpelitz (Nathan). She is survived by her sister Gladys (Elgin) Gogol, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Nick; parents, Theodore and Kathryn Ratushniak; sisters, Mary (Albert) Golas, Teena (John) Yaskiw and Tekla Ratushniak; brother, Michael (Nettie) Ratushniak; and sister-in-law Mary (Peter) Prokop.

May Ann's memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
