Bill Leason

July 18, 1936 ~ May 7, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old


LEASON – Billie Leason, beloved husband of Ann Leason of Preeceville passed away on May 7, 2017 at the Regina General Hospital. He was eighty years of age.

     Billie Leason was born on July 18, 1936 to Onufry and Veronica (nee Soyko) Leason in the Lady Lake district. He attended Sunny Brae school and in Preeceville when the family home was moved there in 1950. In the late 1950’s, Billie ventured to B.C. where he worked as a lumber jack near William’s Lake and Price George.
    
Billie met Ann Serhan in 1957 and they married in 1962. They were blessed with 3 children: Barbara, Holly (Murray), and Alan and 2 grandchildren Nicolas and Kenidy. Billie’s love of cars steered him toward a career as a mechanic. He worked for Shaw’s Service Station in Regina from 1960-1964; Reliance Garage from 1965-1985 and finally started his own business, Leason’s West End Service in 1984. He retired from this business in 2004.
    
Billie’s favorite baseball team was the Toronto Blue Jays. He loved the great outdoors and spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved watching ball games, and chuck wagon races at various fairs and events.
     Billie is predeceased by his parents Onufry and Veronica Leason, his brothers John, Mike, Fred and Nick. He is survived by his sisters Mary, Ann and Irene, his wife Ann of 54 years, his two daughters, one son, and 2 grandchildren. Billie touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who loved him.

     Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 11 from Trinity United Church in Preeceville with Rev. Miles Russell officiating. Interment followed in the Preeceville Community Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Yorkton Regional Hospital Hemodialysis Unit.  Arrangements were entrusted to Preeceville Funeral Home.
