MALANCHUK - Connie Priscilla Malanchuk beloved wife of Kevin Malanchuk passed away suddenly on June 22, 2017. She was forty five years of age.
Connie was born in Edmonton, Alberta on March 10, 1972. Connie was a girl who was full of life. She had a great love of Jesus, and of people, young and old. Connie offered her help to others whenever an opportunity arose. One of Connie’s passions was singing to the elderly in nursing homes. She also helped out at the Ketchen Lake Bible camp. There, her skills as a friend and peace maker were practiced. Connie would always go the extra mile to support others.
Connie loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She and Kevin were parents to two dogs. She enjoyed the water and activities that went with being in the water, such as jet skiing and canoeing. Canora Beach was one of Connie’s favourite places to go. She also loved motorcycle riding. During quiet times, Connie enjoyed knitting.
Connie was united in marriage with Kevin in Yorkton on March 17, 2013. The few short years that they were able to spend with each other brought so much joy into their lives. Our comfort is knowing that Connie had the relationship that she did with Jesus.
Connie was predeceased by her father, John Dueck; her grandmother, Lydia Kleebaum; aunts, Rose Sies, Ella Goebel and Dorothy Coleman; uncle, Phillip Coleman; brother in law, Ryan Malanchuk.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her beloved husband, Kevin Malanchuk; her loving mother, Evelyn Dueck; Kevin’s parents, Marie and Walter Parmley; Kevin’s brother and sister and their families, Craig Parmley (Mindy Fullawka) and Diana (Chuck) Fehr; as well as numerous relatives and many special friends.
Connie’s courage and faith are best captured in this poem written by her.
His Eyes
Behold I have seen
A glimpse of glory
I have looked into the eyes
Of One who is true and just
I have seen His eyes
His eyes of compassion
His eyes of fire
His eyes of light
His eyes of purity
He has granted me
A glimpse of glory
My Lord and my King
Eternal and ever loving.
Connie will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
A visitation for family and friends was held on June 26 from Gateway Community Church in Canora. A celebration of Connie’s life was held on June 27, 2017 from Gateway Community Church with Pastors Greg Bright of Gateway Community Church and Pastors Brett and Mavis Watson of Parkland Christian Centre presiding.
