The family of the late David Mills, of Sturgis, formally of Endeavour, beloved husband of Kathy Mills, sadly announce his passing on September 19, 2016 at the Yorkton Health Centre, Yorkton, Sask.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home,

Interment will follow in the Preeceville Community Cemetery, Preeceville, Sask.

David was born February 27, 1960 in Preeceville, Sk. He was the third son of Ralph and Doreen Mills, Brother to John, Gerald, Tim, Lorene, James, Gordon and Scot.  David passed away in the Yorkton regional hospital on September 19, 2016 shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.

David attended Endeavour School near the farm he grew up on.

He married Kathy Messenger on August 2, 1980. They had 4 children Sabrina, Tabitha, Jesse & Joylene. After he married Kathy they resided on acreage near Usherville, Sk until 2003 when they moved to Sturgis, Sk.

David began working for CN rail after leaving school where he worked until 1977, when he began working for Messenger Logging. He continued in the logging industry with multiple seasonal jobs including Farming, Community pasture, Dairy hand and skidster work. In 2003 he left the logging industry and the family opened the Sturgis Chuckwagon Diner where he worked until 2007 when he got his Class 1A and became a truck driver. He began trucking with Karcha Trucking and later Eastside Gravel where he continued to work.  Regardless of occupation, David always took pride in any task that was put before him.

David enjoyed gardening and plants, curling, rodeo, camping with his family, napping in his chair, spoiling his dogs, Ray’s auctions, lovingly growling at his grandkids and taking Kathy and the dogs in the truck whenever they had a chance.

David is predeceased by his mother-in-law Margaret, brother Gerald, niece Dale and Great-nephew Rodney.

David will be missed by his parents Doreen and Ralph, Father-in-law Sherol, Wife Kathy, Children  Sabrina (Colin Chernyk), Tabitha (Ted Alblas),  Jesse (Ashley King), Joylene ( Mackenzie Foster), Grandchildren Katie, Jonathon, Lucas, Bella, Skyler, Aria and many extended family members and friends.
