Edward Albert Michaluk was born October 13, 1943 to John and Ledona Michaluk in Preeceville Saskatchewan. Ed was the second of five children born to John and Ledona. The family farmed 4 miles east of Sturgis Saskatchewan and Ed attended Sturgis School.
Ed worked many jobs in his life from road construction that took him throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and even Alberta. He operated the grader and snow plow for the RMs of Preeceville, Verigin and Mikado for a few seasons.
In 1973 he took over the responsibility of the family farm continuing the tradition of grain farming until his retirement when he then rented out the land. In the late 1970’s and into the early 1980’s Ed owned and operated the Sturgis Pool Hall in Sturgis.
Ed had a love of many things but music brought him the most joy, his band the “Country Stars” travelled all over the country side playing for many venues and events. Country Stars later changed to Candida but Ed continued his love of music. Ed also loved to hunt, fish and even trapping. You could even find Ed relaxing and watching some western movies.
Ed will be remembered by his family as someone who was comical and funny, willing to help when and where ever needed, and for the love and enjoyment of his family and friends.
Ed is predeceased by his parents John and Ledona. He is survived by his Daughter Lindsay (Andrew) Horwood of Edmonton, AB. His brother Ron of Winnipeg, MB. His sisters Ann Antoniuk of Sturgis, Lorraine (Darvin) Szeles of Rockford, Sandra (Darcy) Pasiechnik of Endeavour, and his grandchildren Brooke and Kale Horwood.
