Mrs. Ethel Janet Fisher, beloved wife of the Late Morley Fisher of Yorkton and formerly of Preeceville, passed away with her children by her side on November 3, 2023, at the Canora Gateway Lodge.
Ethel was born on December 4, 1934, on a farm south of Sturgis. On June 30, 1962, she married her best friend, Morley Fisher. They were blessed with two children: their son Aaron and their daughter Lorrie.
Ethel was predeceased by her parents Richard (Ed) and Blanche Hearn; her husband Morley Fisher; and her siblings Lionel (Lowney) Hearn, Ione Parkin, Lorene Biccum, Charlotte Siddons, and Donatius (Don) Hearn.
Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her son Aaron (Cindy); daughter Lorrie (Roland); her grandchildren Kyle, Amanda (Ryan), Kendra (Dylan), Bryce (Kaylee), Amber, Denaye (Brendon), Dallyn (Dominik), and Morgan (Jackie); her great-grandchildren Tavon. Lilith, Camdyn, Kyler, Braelyn, Kaitlin, and Asher; her sister-in-law Evelyn Hearn; as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but we will cherish all our precious memories.
Ethel’s family wish to express their gratitude for your kindness, support, and attendance at the visitation and service. We wish to extend our thank you to all the staff at the Canora Gateway Lodge for all of the love and care they provided our beloved, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Thank you to our ministers Margaret Hanson and Annette Beach for officiating, spiritual guidance, and support. Also thank you to Preeceville Funeral Home for all of the preparation and arrangements and the Club 60 staff for preparing the luncheon.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home with Ministers, Margaret Hanson & Annette Beach officiating. A tribute was given by Ethel’s niece, Laurel Siddons. Chrystal and Stefan Bymak, Jim Siddons and Kyle Fisher read scriptures. The pianist, Chris Fisher, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, ‘Tomorrow’s Path’, ‘My Refuge and Hope’ and ‘Where All is Peaceful’. Interment followed in the Preeceville Community Cemetery with Kyle, Bryce, Tavon and Jim Fisher, Darrell and Rick Biccum serving as casketbearers. Memorial donations may be made to Canora Gateway Lodge (212 Centre Ave E. Canora, SK S0A 0L0) as gifts of remembrance.
