Eugene Panasiewich Obituary

Mr. Eugene Panasiewich, beloved partner of Delores Orban, of Preeceville, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was 81 years of age.

Eugene was born on May 10, 1942, to William and Pauline (Mykytyshyn) Panasiewich in the Preeceville Union Hospital.

Eugene loved the farm. He loved farming, loved the challenge of choosing the right crops and thinking of ways to farm more efficiently. Farming for as long as Eugene did, he learned how to fix anything and everything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends. Most of all Eugene was fond of going for drives and relaxing with his love, Delores.

Eugene (Pa) leaves behind his loving partner, Delores and his stepchildren; Darrell (Roberta), Wanda (Robert), Cheryl (Brant), Jay (Beverly), and grandchildren Danielle, Dustin, Tyson, Jaelyn, Nikki, Amy, Bryan, Rebecca, Dylan and Kyla along with seven great-grandchildren, his sister, Betty,  nieces Andrea (Dan), Leah (Matt), two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Eugene is predeceased by his parents, William and Pauline, his brother-in-law, Victor Shalanski, niece Darcy Leigh Shalanski, Katherine Kelemen (Delores’ mother) and Elizabeth Orban (Delores’ mother-in-law).

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home, with Pastor Bradley Steppan of the Endeavour Fellowship Chapel officiating. The Eulogy was read by Jay Orban, Andrea Shalanski and Leah Shalanski. Interment followed in the Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Preeceville, with Daniel Balkwill, Matt Edgelow, Bryan Driver, Zenovie Gulka, Roman Gulka, and Jay Orban serving as casket bearers. Memorials may be made to Preeceville Wildlife Federation (Box 711, Preeceville, SK, S0A 3B0) as gifts of remembrance.
