Eva Lisoway Obituary

Lisoway –  Mrs. Eva Lisoway, wife of the Late Pat Lisoway of Preeceville Long Term Care, formerly of the Stenen district passed away on January 26, 2021.

Eva Mary Lisoway was born on Oct 5, 1925 in Canora, Sk., was the first child of John and Dora Bogucky of Hyas.  She was big sister to Elsie, Ernie, Janice, and Phyllis.  Liverpool School was a couple miles from the farm, and was a daily walk for 8 yrs.  She completed grades nine and ten by correspondence.  To attain grade eleven at Hyas High School, she lived with the Taylors where she worked as a telephone operator and cleaned their home.

Travelling by train to Toronto, she got a job working at the Neilson Chocolate Factory.  Eva married Pat Lisoway in Toronto in 1945 and later, happily moved back to Sask., and shortly after, onto their farm north of Stenen.  There she lived contentedly, until her health necessitated the move to Preeceville Health Centre in the past year.

She lived a very full and tireless life while raising 6 children, Dale, Valerie, Arlene, Marlene, Sheldon, and Colette.  During this time, she worked alongside Pat, making many sacrifices for her family.  She welcomed and enjoyed spending time with her 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  In Oct. she cherished her 95th birthday celebration where the family was gathered outside.  She was engaged in every moment and didn’t want to miss anything.

Eva went to her eternal rest peacefully on the morning of Jan. 26.  She left many loving memories to her children, Dale & Maureen, Valerie & Daryl, Arlene & Rey, Marlene & Bert, Sheldon & Brenda, and Colette; grandchildren, Carla & Trevor, Carrie & Jack, Craig & Leanne, Daryl Jr. & Lorrie, Rochelle & Guy, Darla & James, Dana & Jennifer, Darby & Pamela, Amber & Sandy, and Blaze; great-grandchildren, Rhianna, Shanae, Savannah, Tanielle, Jadyn, Zoe, Cecil, Riley, Jordan, Alia, Emma, Martha, Jimmy, Eva, Gage, Anika, Mitchell, Silver, and Tia; sisters, Janice and Phyllis & Rudy; sister-in-law, Iris.

She will be forever loved and missed by many!
