Eva Zawerucha

Eva Zawerucha passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023, at the age of 91.

Eva is survived by her sister, Nettie Moskwa, and her brother, Nick Zawerucha, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by 10 siblings.

Eva was born in Saskatchewan to the late Mike and Paraska Zawerucha and was one of thirteen children. Growing up on the family farm, she developed a deep-rooted connection to the land, nature, and a strong work ethic that would shape her life. Eva's life was marked by her hard work and dedication to her community. She was employed at Nabisco for over 40 years. Beyond her professional life, Eva was deeply involved with volunteering at the Legion (Branch 51). In 2014, Eva was honoured with the title of "Citizen of the Year" in Niagara Falls for her outstanding volunteer work, an accolade that reflected her extraordinary commitment to making her community a better place. Her selflessness and tireless dedication to various causes were evident in the numerous lives she touched and the positive impact she had on those around her. Eva Zawerucha will always be remembered as a very giving person. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Graveside service was held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Preeceville Cemetery.
