Obituary
The family of George Delvin Hearn, of Preeceville, sadly announce his passing on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was 88 years of age.
George Delvin Hearn, known to all as Delvin, was born on the family farm on May 7, 1935 just south west of Preeceville, Saskatchewan to Roy and Charlotte Hearn.
When he was old enough he attended Beaver Bluff School, located 1 mile south of his home. He walked to school, uphill both ways, every day until grade 8, at which time he went to work for various farmers in the area as well as at home. He also worked putting machinery together at Hunt Farm Equipment with his nephew Brian.
Delvin was the second youngest son of Roy and Charlotte. He is predeceased by his brothers, Clifford, Norman, Garnet “Jay” and Edmond “Ted” and is survived by his sister Marjorie Weber as well as many, many, many nieces and nephews.
In short, Delvin was a quiet, shy and kind person. He will be missed by all. And He Loved Cake!
The funeral service was held on Thursday, August 24th from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home with Crystal Bailey, certified celebrant, officiating.
The interment followed in the Preeceville Community Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Delvin may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as gifts of remembrance.
Arrangements were entrusted to Preeceville Funeral Home.
