Julien Pensaert, of Yorkton, and formerly of Sandy Lake, Manitoba, passed away at Preeceville Long Term Care on Sunday March 9, 2025. He was one day shy of celebrating his 89 birthday.
Dad was born in Lokeren, Belgium, on March 10, 1936, to Benoit and Simonne (Ongena) Pensaert. He always wanted to be a farmer just like his parents and a farmer he became. He married Anna Bracke and they had 5 children. The family immigrated to Canada in 1973, first settling in Lacolle, Quebec, and eventually settling on a farm in Sandy Lake, Manitoba. He retired to Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed watching soccer and bicycle races. Julien loved to dance and enjoyed a simple life.
He is predeceased by his parents, Benoit and Simonne; the mother of his children, Anna Bracke and daughter, Marijke. He is survived by his sister, Jose; daughters, Myriam (Cliff) and Sonia (Scott); and sons William (Jim) and Edwin (Cindy).
We would like to thank the staff at the Preeceville Personal Care Home and Preeceville and District Long Term Care and Dr Meyer for the care they provided for dad.
