Julius Chorney Obituary

Julius Chorney passed away peacefully in his home in Preeceville on September 7, 2024.  He was 80 years old.

Julius was born June 17, 1944 in Preeceville, parents George and Mary (Palamar) Chorney

Julius attended school in Preeceville and resided there most of his life.  He spent a year working on a Ranch in British Columbia in early 1980’s and later as a farm hand in the area of Preeceville.  He worked at various jobs including doing water works in Pelly and Preeceville.  He was also employed at Reliance Auto Body in Preeceville.  Julius was known for his physical strength and felt there was no need to use a jack when doing repairs as he could just lift the car up with his hands.  Julius loved to spend time with family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing at nearby lakes and rivers.

Julius will be remembered by his many friends and family for his kindness, sense of humour and practical jokes.  He loved to laugh and had a smile for everyone.  He was generous and always willing to share what he had.  He was devoted to his family and provided care for his mother for several years before her death and later helped his sister, Nancy.  Julius was always dedicated to his family and friends who will always cherish those special moments with him.

Julius is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Chorney: sister, Nancy and brother in law Peter Cherkowski, and brother William Chorney

Julius is survived by his Aunt Rose Zacharias and many cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were held on November 2, 2024, in the Chapel of  Preeceville Funeral Home with Dr. Randall Harriman officiating. The congregation listened to the hymns "You Are My All in All", "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" throughout the service.
