Lillian Gogol Obituary

The family of Lillian Gogol, beloved wife of the late Edward Gogol of Lady Lake, sadly announce her passing on Friday, July 15. She was 72 years of age.

A Memorial Service will take place of Thursday, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church.

Memorial donations in memory of Lillian may be made to Palliative Care in Canora and Norquay as gifts of remembrance.

Lillian Nellie was bon on March 28, 1950, in the Sturgis District, to Steve and Katie Tureski. She had six sisters and three brothers. Lillian received her education in Sturgis, where she later graduated. She entered the workforce as a waitress and worked Canora and Jasper.

She met the love of her life, Edward Gogol at an Easter dance in April, 1967. They enjoyed each others company; dancing, wiener roasts, going to drive-in movies and visiting with friends and family. They were engaged on May 8, 1971 in Jasper and got married on June 30, 1972 at the Preeceville United Church and had their wedding reception at the Lady Lake Community Hall in which they built their forever home next to. They enjoyed going to PEI for their honeymoon.

In 1973 they purchase the 9 and 49 Esso in Preeceville. In 1977 they sold the service station and adopted Tammie on June 10. Lillian and Edward operated a mixed farming operation along side Edward’s parents, Lasko and Mary. Lillian enjoyed picking stones, wind-rowing bales, hauling grain and the other farm duties. They farmed until 2000.

On May 4, 1986 they were blessed with Laura and they were blessed again on February 21, 1988 with Trina.

Lillian enjoyed her big garden, her beautiful flowers, cooking and baking and making sure no one left her house hungry after a visit. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, colouring, mushroom and berry picking and was very talented with decorating cakes and Ukrainian Easter eggs, but there was nothing she cherished more than spending time with her grandsons.
Lillian is predeceased by both her parents; Steve and Katie; five siblings, her husband of forty one years, Edward and her father and mother-in-law, Lasko and Mary.

She is survived by her daughters Tammie (Darryl), Laura, Trina (Dallyn), her grandsons, Brandyn, Darrian, Connor, Kelton, Lasko, Theeus and great-grandson, Weston and six siblings, and her canine son, Gunner.
