Marion Milette Obituary

Mrs. Marion Milette (nee Kardynal) of Saskatoon, formerly of Preeceville, wife of the Late Louis Milette, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was 92 years of age.

Marion was born on February 17, 1934 to Steve and Polly (Stasiuk) Kardynal. She married Louis Milette on January 22, 1955. They made their home in the Preeceville district, eventually moving into town. They were blessed with 5 children, Cindy, Stephen, Paula, Melissa and Michael.

The majority of her married life was spent as a home maker. She was a devoted member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis and a member of the CWL. In her spare time, she could be found knitting or quilting, and always watching her beloved Blue Jays games on TV. Nothing brought her greater joy then when grandchildren and then great grandchildren started arriving.

Marion was predeceased by her father Steve Kardynal, and mother Polly Kardynal, her husband Louis Milette, her brother Doug Kardynal, son-in-law Larry Myden, and son-in-law John Hnatuk.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Cindy Myden, Stephen (Veronica) Milette, Paula Hnatuk, Melissa (Daryl) Michaluk, Michael (Susan) Milette; 13 grandchildren: Jaime (Casey) Bolger, Kathryn (Sean) Morrissey, Michelle (Matthew) Fontaine, Alicia (Chuck) Bodnarchuk, Christopher (Melissa) Milette, Nicole (Jarret) Miller, Rebecca Hnatuk, Jennifer (Justin) Bassingthwaite, Whitney (Stephen) Michaluk, Justine (Tyson) Michaluk, Britany (Tom) Hill, Brett (Taylor) Milette, Cassandra (Marshall) Neuls; 20 great grandchildren: Nate, Max, Paige, Haley, Nora, Mackenna, Mya, Mason, Grace, Nicholas, Aspen, Jude, Maren, Blake, Evan, Brodie, Averie, Brooke, Jacob, Ellie; her sisters: Rose Galbraith and Jane Wellenstein; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on March 7, 2026, from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis, SK with Rev. Fr. Andrew Sowa, O.M.I as Celebrant. Evan Bassingthwaite was the cross bearer and Paige Bolger and Haley Morrissey were the gift bearers. Daryl Michaluk read the eulogy. Cassandra Neuls and Grace Bodnarchuk read scripture. The hymns “Here I Am Lord”, “Amazing Grace”, “I am The Bread of Life” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung. Interment followed in the Preeceville Cemetery with honourary pallbearers, Blake Bassingthwaite and Brodie Bassingthwaite and the pallbearers, Sean Morrissey, Devin Kardynal, Nate Bolger, Max Bolger, Chris Milette and Brett Milette serving.
