In 1954, the land was so wet that Earl Morrison of Hazel Dell was hired to seed 80 acres of this land on June 24 to rapeseed with an IHC TD 6 crawler and a 24 run IHC drill. The rapeseed grew 4 to 5 feet tall and froze at the end of August. There was nothing to harvest. On August 20, 1958, Paul married Honor Wesolowski of Invermay.
