Peter Gillespie

May 13, 1952 ~ March 26, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Gillespie-Peter Gillespie, beloved husband of Jacqueline Gillespie,  passed away on March 26, 2017. He was sixty- four years of age.

     Peter was born on May 13, 1952 in Mistassini, Quebec to Frank (Moose) and Marie

Gillespie. At a very young age, Peter's family ventured west and made their home in

Canmore, alberta. When Pete was 14 years old, the family then moved to Granum, Alberta

where they bought a Service Garage. After the family business subsided, Pete went to work

with various farmers in the Granum area. Working on the farms gave pete the opportunity to

get his driver's license...he drove the grain truck up to the driving instructor, and surprised

him so much, he awarded Pete with his driver's license. Pete then went on to work at

Larson's Tire Shop in Fort Macleod, alberta for a few years until he went to work at a salvage

yard auto wrecking business. Pete met his wife Jackie and moved to claresholm where he

then worked for Brian Senef’s Construction. After that construction company went under, he

got a job with McNally Construction in Fort macleod. Pete then bought a house in fort

macleod and moved his family there where he continued to work with McNally’s for 15 years.

In 2009, Pete and his wife then ventured out to Preeceville, Saskatchewan and he went to

work with Potzus Construction. He loved working with big trucks and equipment. He loved

to travel and play the slots. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and camping in his free time

and spending time with his family.

Pete is survived by his loving family; his wife Jackie, daughter Alisha (Dave) of Picture Butte,

AB and their children: Jayme, Zachary, Jonah, Luke and Janaya; son Ryan (Crystal) of Fort

Macleod, AB and their children: Chandler, Cadence, Cage, and Cassidy; His sisters Toni of

Coalhurst, AB and her children Jack, Paul, Desneiges, and Chris; and Pauline (Terry) of

High Prairie, AB and their kids, Chris, Stacey, Trevor and Angie; and brother Mike (Dianne)

of Lethbridge; He was also blessed with numerous Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Pete

was predeceased by his mother Marie and father Frank, and his younger sister Betty.

    A Memorial Service for Peter was held on March 30, 2017 from the chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home with Crystal Bailey presiding. Arrangements were entrusted to Preeceville Funeral Home.
