It is with deep sadness that the family of Ralph Krenbrenk, of St. Albert, AB, and formerly of the Endeavour District, announce his passing on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was 78 years of age. Ralph Rudolph Joseph Krenbrenk was born to Margaret and Rudolph Krenbrenk on November 18,1946 in the Red Cross Hospital in Endeavour. A brother to big sisters Rose and Jean and later a younger sister Kathy would be added to the family. Ralph thoroughly enjoyed the farm life. Ralph worked with his parents on the farm, from baling square bales to field work, and hand-picking rocks and milking cows. He fondly remembered fishing at Schutte Lake where you could rent a boat from the Bannisters. Ralph was an avid hunter in his younger days.
Ralph took an active part in the Anglican Church while growing up, helping with the services and he attended Anglican Young People in his his school years.
Ralph attended Veterans School for grades 1 to 3 and then was bused to Rockford for grades 4 to 8. He graduated from Sturgis Composite High School in 1964. He went on to attend University in Regina and trained as a teacher. He taught school for several years in Saskatchewan at Drake, Fenwood, Archerwell and Molanosa. Ralph married Gloria Goodman in 1970. After moving from Molanosa, they lived in Regina for a year and then moved to Edmonton. Ralph studied to be an Electrician and once he received his journeyman papers moved to St Albert where he still resided. Ralph became self employed, driving his own taxi cab until his retirement in 2021 at the age of 75. Ralph was blessed with three sons Clinton, Curtis and Calvin. He was a big supporter of their activities, music, sports and drawing.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, his sister Jean, and brother- in-laws Russell MacDonald and Barry Ambrose. He leaves to mourn his loss, his three sons Clinton of St. Albert, Curtis of Montreal, Calvin and his wife Susan and his only grandchild Myles of Glasgow, Scotland; his sisters Rose MacDonald and Kathy Ambrose; his nieces Grace Rieder, Jackie Ambrose and Christine Day; his nephew Gordon MacDonald and their families; the mother of his children Gloria Krenbrenk.
The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home with Rev. Luanne Hrywkiw of Holy Trinity Anglican Church officiating. Gordon MacDonald shared special memories, and Curtis Krenbrenk shared “A Son’s Reflections”. Jackie Ambrose did a special reading. Scripture was read by Jianna Rieder and Meghanne Rieder-Underhill. Calvin Krenbrenk performed special music. The pianist, Debbie Blender, played for the hymns “Blessed Assurance”, “In the Garden”, and “Abide with Me”. Interment followed at the St. George Ypres Cemetery with Ian Rieder, Barry Rieder, Gordon MacDonald, Melvin Goodman, Joseph Milburn, and Martin Rolles serving as casketbearers.
