The family of Ronald Krochak beloved partner of Sandra McLeod of Benito and formerly of Preeceville passed away on January 18, 2021 at the Swan Valley Health Centre. He was 71 years of age.
Ronald William Krochak was born on April 20, 1949 at the Preeceville Union Hospital to William and Stella (nee Prystay) Krochak. The doctor that delivered Ronnie was Dr. Feinstein. He was born at 12:55am and weighed 8Lbs 3ozs. He was the heaviest of 7 boys that his mother gave birth to. Ronald was baptized at the Arran Ukrainian Catholic Church. He also received his first Communion at the church. Ronald also received catechism education from the Catholic Sisters at both Arran and Stenen churches. Ronald’s elementary education started in Arran and continued in Stenen Saskatchewan. His secondary/Highschool education followed in Sturgis Saskatchewan. Ronald did not complete his high school education. He moved on to Hamilton Ontario during the 1970’s while staying with brother Donald and his wife MaryAnne. Ronald attended Mohawk Technical College in Hamilton where he received a certificate for Millwright. While living in Hamilton Ronald worked at Dominion Glass Company.
Ronald moved to Regina SK in 1979 where he met his sweetheart Sandra. He took on her four teenage children as his own, Gerald, Olinda, Olivia and Phylaine. He then worked for Ebbett Construction putting up Berlin Wickes Steel Buildings where he worked with his cousin David, who was his Forman. Throughout Ronald’s life he had many endeavours, he worked in Swift Current SK on the pipeline, worked as a Millwright for the Hudson Bay Mining Smelting, Snow Lake MB Mill.
In 1985 Ronald and Sandra welcomed a daughter Denoda; two years later in 1987 they welcomed twin daughter’s Karlee and Kaylee. Ronald and Sandra moved to Melville SK where they ran a pizza restaurant, Dynasty Pizza. Moving on from Melville Ron and Sandra moved to The Pas Mb where Ron decided to pursue further education in mechanics at the University College of the North. He worked in Gillam MB building the dam for a short while.
Ronald and his family later uprooted to Calgary AB where he worked for Artisan Drilling driving truck delivering parts for the rigs. Ronald also worked for Precision Drilling on the rigs. The family later settled in Benito MB. Ron drove, hauling anhydrous for Coop Agro in Benito MB for a short while. Ronald drove the water truck working alongside his brother Gary and Donnie many years, many areas through Alberta. Ronald and his daughter Karlee later worked for Union 180 for the expansion Refinery Regina SK as labourers. The pride Ronald had for all of his family was truly something special. He truly loved his grandchildren; they made him most proud.
With God our creator, Ronald was predeceased by his parents William and Stella, his brother Barry, and his daughter Phylaine.
Ron passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021, at the age of 71 years.

His extended family: his son Gerald (Louisa) of The Pas MB; his daughter Olivia of The Pas MB; his daughter Olinda (Larry) of Snow Lake MB; and grandchildren: Joshua; Cassandra; Aaron; Phylaine; Ashton; Cordelle; Harley; Drew; Lana; Cole; his greatgrandchildren: Aiden; Jordyn; Alexandria; Brooklyn; Brothers: Donnie (MaryAnne) of Hamilton ON; Jimmy (Julie) of Assiniboia; Gary (Jackie) of Red Deer AB; Michael of Preeceville SK; Terry (Sherrie) of Good Spirit Lake SK.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Ronald will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from the Chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home with Very Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac of Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. Tributes and words of remembrance were given by Denoda Gogol and Don Krochak. Austin Gogol served as the crossbearer. Interment followed in Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery with Laine Gogol, James Marquart, Josh Krochak, Ricky Krochak, Derrick Krochak and Eric Krochak serving as the casketbearers. Memorials in memory of Ron may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or to the Swan Valley Health Centre 1011 Main St E, Swan River, MB R0L 1Z0 as gifts of remembrance.
