Ronald Schutte Obituary

Ronald passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 17, 2022 with family by his side.

     Ronald was born December 23, 1928 at the farm of his grandparents, William and Elsie Guy.

     He grew up in Rockford on his parent’s farm Leander and Florence (nee Guy) Schutte. He attended school in Rockford. His love of farming soon overpowered education so he went to work at an early age.

     Ronald met Vera Ebel in 1959 and a four year courtship began. They were married at the Pentecostal church in Preeceville on May 31, 1963 beginning a marriage of 58 years.

     Together they set out on their farm venture of cattle, grain and hay. Ronald was proud to be the first Charolais breeder in Rockford, starting a herd with a direct French bloodline. Any animals on Ronald‘s farm received the best of care, deep beds of straw and lots of hay.

     Ronald was a soft-spoken, hard-working man. He never met a challenge he couldn’t overcome or a machine he couldn’t operate.

     He was employed, for 16 winters as a tree faller in the wood industry.

     Family was his greatest love of all, for each and everyone. Ronald will be remembered for his big smile, his laugh and his firm handshake.

     He will be missed dearly by his wife, Vera; daughter, Shelley (Ryan); grandkids, Kelsey (Dustin), and Kadin (Katey); great grandson, Leander;

     He is also survived by his brothers, Orville, Lawrence (Dora) and Morris (Sylvia); sisters, Myrtle (Ervin), Ethel (Steve); numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials in memory of Ronald may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or to the Yorkton S.P.C.A. as gifts of remembrance.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preeceville Funeral Home.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
