Mr. Russell Peet, beloved husband of Mrs. Vicki Peet, of Preeceville, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. He was 67 years of age.

    A Graveside Service in Celebration of Russ's Life will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 3:00 p.m. from the Preeceville Community Cemetery.

    Memorial donations in memory of Russell Peet may be made to Preeceville Home Care or to Sunrise Health District or to the Preeceville Walking Trails as gifts of remembrance.

  

    He will be deeply missed by Vicki, his wife of 45 years; sister, Barbara (John) Rowe and family – Sarah (Malcolm), Libby (Bill) and Oliver (Laura) and families; Diane (Wayne) Rusnak and family - Lee (Jodie), Brett (Claudia), Lara (Shawn), Todd (Kim) and families; together with cousins and sister-in-law, Diane Gabruch and family – Heath (Colleen), Tim and families.

    Russ was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Eleanor (nee Evans) Peet.

    In 1979 (February 6th) Russ married Vicki and together they started their life at Saskatoon, later moving to Estevan, Weyburn and then Preeceville.

    Russ graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction (History) and Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1981 and later articled to Robert  Kohaly of Kohaly and Elash, Estevan.  He worked at Macdonald Law Office, Weyburn and in 1983 opened his law firm at Preeceville.

    Russ loved life in Preeceville where he practiced law for 41 years, enjoyed working with clients and taking on challenging cases. He felt fortunate and enjoyed his proximity to Crystal Lake at the family cabin, enjoyed skiing/running trails just outside his back door, and his participation in community groups including the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kelsey Ecological Society, Preeceville Pioneer Relays and local candidates’ political forums.

    Russ held a passionate interest and acumen for Canadian, Saskatchewan and political history with a recent interest in Henry Kelsey.

    Russ lived his life with great determination to push ahead despite his health struggles in latter years.

    He will be missed by many.
