Sharon Buchinski

May 30, 1948 ~ October 8, 2016 (age 68) 68 Years Old

BUCHINSKI - Mrs. Sharon Buchinski of the Usherville district, beloved wife of the late Mervin Buchinski passed away on October 8, 2016.
Sharon Lee Buchinski was born on May 30, 1948 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Arthur and Alice Miller. She grew up on the family farm near Ogema Saskatchewan where her early years were filled with hard work, which included a huge garden, planting and weeding trees, pigs, chickens, turkeys along with milking cows and many chores. She enjoyed most school sports and was involved in many school organizations. She met Mervin in Ogema in 1966 and they were married in 1967 at the Anglican Church in Ogema. She completed her nurses training in 1969 at the Regina General Hospital and briefly lived in Lethbridge Alberta before moving to Preeceville Saskatchewan. They eventually moved to the family farm near Usherville where she resided until the present time. Her family was her pride and joy and she was always there to help any of her children when needed even if they didn't realize it at the time. She spent many years looking after ailing loved ones and always did it with a smile on her face. She enjoyed tea parties with her grandchild Karley and their yearly trips to the fair to ride the Ferris wheel.
Nursing was Sharon's passion and it showed through the 45 years of service at the Preeceville Hospital. She saw the closing of the old hospital and the conversion of the current hospital to what it is today. She was a mentor to other staff and often took charge and remained calm in any situation. Her co-workers became some of her best friends and were there to support and love her until the end.
She was a strong Christian and was very involved in the St. James Anglican Church. She enjoyed the countless hours spent working at the Church Mouse Sale with friends and the great many weekends spent at Camp LORE over the years.
In retirement she found great joy in being involved in several groups and committees. She seemed to be home even less now that she was retired than when she was working. She loved the hours spent at the museum getting ready for fundraisers and making sure the nurse mannequin had a cap. She joined the Red Hat Society and was often off on grand adventures with them all over the province. She had an affinity for wild flowers and especially enjoyed having the horticulture society over for a scavenger hunt of wild flowers and a wiener roast at the farm this spring. She was constantly on the go and recently enjoyed a weekend of sightseeing and a day at a friend's cabin at McBride Lake. Whatever Sharon did, she did with great passion and always put her heart and soul into it.
She is predeceased by her husband Mervin, her parents, father and mother-in-law Walter and Elizabeth Buchinski, brother-in-law Mike Buchinski and brother and sister-in-laws Wes and Attie Miller and Donald Sr. and Nancy Gibson. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her children Graham (Amy), Daniel (Laurissa), Elizabeth (Paul), granddaughter Karley, brothers Dale (Robin) and Harvey (Margaret) Miller, brother and sister-in-law Alex and Joyce Yalowega, several nieces and nephews and countless family and friends.
