The family of Terry Gulka sadly announce his passing on January 18, 2021 in Calgary. He was 57 years of age.
Terry John Gulka is the first-born child to Harry and Edith (nee Pacholka) Gulka. Terry was born June 5, 1963 in Preeceville, SK. He attended and graduated from Preeceville High School in 1981.
Shortly after he moved from the family farm to Edmonton Alberta where he worked at the Ipsco Inc, as an inspector/steel worker. At times when there was layoffs Terry would return to the family farm to assist his dad on the farm and to work the Co-op or creamery in Preeceville. Terry changed careers and worked for CAA Alberta in a clerical position, but the steel industry called and he returned to that type of work with them for another 20 years. During that time the work changed location from Edmonton to Calgary as companies closed and or changed operation locations. In the last few years of his life he worked in shipping, receiving, and warehouse positions in Saskatoon and Calgary.
Terry was very committed to his religious beliefs and to his Ukrainian heritage. He spoke fluent Ukrainian and attended Ukrainian Catholic Church service regularly.
Terry enjoyed cooking and baking. He would boast about his pies and cookies he made. He loved nature and animals especially budgies, keeping several as pets. Terry was very informative and would like to debate political affairs with anyone who wanted to challenge him.
Terry is predeceased by his father Harry in 1989. Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory his mom Edith, sisters Mary, Virginia (Chris) Fehr and many relatives and friends.
